Gramma Hilda's Doggie Delights
"The History Behind the Success"

These awesome treats (Left: Crispy Buttons top, Doggie Donuts bottom) are a healthy, crispy snack that not only your dog will enjoy, but Janet has sold Gramma Hilda's crispy buttons to ferret, goat, horse, and bird customers. They are chocked full of all natural ingredients. There is no added salt-sugar-preservatives-artificial coloring-or artificial flavorings.

The history of Gramma Hilda's Doggie Delights™ stems from Janet's grooming days. Janet, her mother, her grandmother, and her sister all worked together at their grooming salon. There Janet did the fluffy finishing, her sister (Dar Bagby illustrator for Maycly and the HIDDEN EARTH Series) handled the book work, their mom did all of the bathing of the pets and the crafting of the doggie bows (which also made it around the world: pictured lower right), and Gramma Hilda was in charge of blow drying and brushing. Like the treats, they didn't just groom dogs - they added cats to the mix and even had a standing client who was a pot belly pig! (She always looked so cute with decorative bows on her collar when she left the salon ).
One Christmas Gramma Hilda (a true baker at heart) thought it would be fun to come up with a gourmet dog treat recipe that she could bake and hand out as Christmas gifts to their customers. In no time the ladies of the salon were helping roll out, cut, and bake the new treats. The bone-shaped delights were finished off with Christmas ribbons. Every customer received a special "Happy Howl-a-day" treat. Tails were wagging as they exited, crunching on their yummy present.

December came and went, January arrived and the gals headed back to the salon to get things going for the New Year, the treat idea tucked away until the next December. The first day back clients began asking if they could buy some more of those wonderful treats. Being the kind of family we are (go getters - not quitters) we all said, "Sure! Give us a few days to bake some more and we'll call you when they're available."

Needless to say these dedicated dog lovin' ladies became a grooming shop by day and a bakery at night. Long story short - the treats ended up making it around the world. Gramma Hilda (pictured left) worked at the salon and baked treats until she reached the age of 90. Her health began to dwindle so the treats fell to the wayside, but Gramma Hilda's Doggie Delights™ never really died in spirit.

Several years later Janet's mother handed down the recipe to Janet who took it and created 11 more flavors. The treats again were a huge success, but this time Janet's health brought restrictions that caused her to have to again send the treats to the wayside.

Still not a quitter Janet got her epic fantasy novel back out and finished it...almost. As she continued to work on unique things for in the novel she came up with the fantastic idea to incorporate Gramma Hilda's Doggie Delights™ into the story.
Being content with the presence of them in her novel, Janet had not given it any more thought until she got to talking with her dear friend, Debbie, of many years (who just so happens to love retail and baking) and asked her if she'd like to become the exclusive baker and provider of Gramma Hilda's Doggie Delights™ while tying it in with the epic fantasy Maycly.

Debbie (pictured left and right)  immediately accepted the opportunity with honor. She and Janet soon had Debbie's Dog Treats off the ground. The treats made their third debut in December 2011 in conjunction with the  promotion of HIDDEN EARTH Volume 1 Maycly the Trilogy, Janet's epic fantasy novel. Debbie and Janet are excited to see that Maycly and Gramma Hilda's Doggie Delights™ are working together hand in hand to bring a great story and cool treats to both pets and their owners who love to read epic fantasy!

So good news! Gramma Hilda's Doggie Delights™ are back, and Janet is elated to know that her family's legacy lives on
