Five Stars for Can Angels Do Loop Dee Loops?

Another 5 star review for Miss Amy's Rhyme Time Collection by the multi-talented Amy Sellers.

Review
Book three in Miss Amy’s Rhyme Time Collection, Can Angels Do Loop Dee Loops? will put a smile in your heart as well as on your face. Amy Sellers both writes and illustrates this collection of children’s poems that reach a little bit deeper than most. Not only do Amy’s rhymes ask the question about angels, but they also take young readers into the numerous possibilities that exist in the animal kingdom and other parts of God’s creation. In addition to these explorations, Amy explores prayer and finding comfort and strength through very simple words. All of Amy’s poems can also be put to music, giving the reader three different dimensions to enjoy.

Can Angels Do Loop Dee Loops? is beautifully illustrated in bright, vibrant colors that brighten anyone’s day. Amy Sellers is not only brilliant as an illustrator, but the simple, yet profound words of her poems are a great way for a young reader to begin to see God as a powerful, yet loving being. With the full spectrum of colors, rhyming and music, Amy and her gang have made this and the other books of her series impossible to stay away from. I must say that I was completely fascinated by her art work and felt that it would stand alone and make the same poetic statements. Yet the simple verses added just enough to tease a young reader’s imagination. Brilliant, colorful and simple, Can Angels Do Loop Dee Loops? is an essential addition to any child’s library, no matter what age they are.

Cats & Mice, Twice as Nice! by Amy Sellers is a delightful and colorful book for children. The book has poems in rhymes made more effective and visual with Amy's artwork that breathes life and movement into her words. All the poems will entertain children with their charming verses and pictures. It is a perfect book for parents, teachers and grandparents to read aloud to kids, students and grand-kids. The sing-along CD that comes with each rhyming verse is helpful to children because listening to the poems makes it more interesting and easier to understand.

All the poems are cute; whether it is 'Kitten Kare Clan' or 'The Fishing Bowl' or 'Queen Cat,' children will simply adore the rhymes and the original artwork from the author. It introduces them to new concepts, words and ideas. The book will make a good bedtime story book and will be perfect for school libraries for their read-aloud sessions. The theme in the poems revolves around the cat, giving it different kinds of images and personalities, thereby stimulating the imagination of young readers. I really liked the author's idea of having the sing-along CDs for these poems because it is useful. The illustrations complement the words beautifully. The verses are fluid and the rhymes are not forced at all. On the whole, reading this book will be a learning experience for many reasons because it introduces kids to new words, rhymes and pictures.

5 Star Review for Sydney Finds a Job!

"Sydney Finds a Job is written by Shari Todd and Thom Battisto. Sydney is an Australian Shepherd who lives with Tom. Their home has a nice back yard with flowers. But Sydney becomes bored and wants more things to occupy her time. This dog breed is accustomed to doing lots of outdoor activities. Their main job is to help ranchers and farmers round up cattle, so they are often referred to as cattle dogs. Sydney decides to help Tom by fetching the morning paper. But that doesn’t go well and she gets it wet with her slobber. Next, she helps Tom water the flowers by swishing the hose around, but waters his shoes instead! Tom tells her that she will soon find a job she can do well. Sydney sees a little girl named Sarah crying. Sarah tells her that she doesn’t know how to read her new book. Sydney decides to help her friend, but will she make a mess of this new job too?

Sydney Finds a Job is a cute little book that will make story time fun for small kids. Shari Todd and Thom Battisto introduce educational facts about this dog breed in a creative setting, so kids will learn about them while being amused by the story. The photos of the real Sydney are adorable. She lives with Thom Battisto and has a job visiting nursing homes, schools and libraries where kids can read to her. Sydney and Thom were praised for their work by First Lady Laura Bush."
