JLB Creatives Publishing and Journey to Publication are gearing up for a mighty month of May! We're kicking it off with our first company appearance for the month being made by our Michigan top team members at the 2016 Loleta Fyan Small and Rural Libraries Conference, taking place in the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan.

The senior editor of JLB Creatives Publishing and co-author of Journey to Publication, Dar Bagby, has been invited to elaborate on ePublishing, alongside Pickford Community Library's manager, Ann Marie Smith.

In addition, JLB Creatives Publishing / Journey to Publication will be exhibiting at the conference. JLB Creatives Publishing Graphic Designer and Journey to Publication co-author, Connie M. Thompson, will serve as the exhibit's lead hostess, ready and eager to give you a "hands-on" look at the ground breaking writing program curriculum that has put Pickford Community Library (PCL) on the map. The PCL's Young Writers Workshop has been deemed the largest young writers group of its kind in the state of Michigan.

Leesburg Library First Annual Comi-Con ~ JLB Creatives Publishing / Journey to Publication to Exhibit!

Mark your calendars - it's Comi-Con time! We would like to personally invite you to come on out to the Leesburg Library First Annual Comi-Con happening Saturday June 13 at the Leesburg Library. JLB Creatives Publishing and Journey to Publication will be exhibiting. Stop by our exhibits to catch a glimpse of some of our authors' best books, our Steampunk art collection, and our comprehensive writing curriculum, Journey to Publication. Saturday morning authors and publishers gathered together at the NOVA Southeastern University in Orlando, Florida for the Florida Authors and Publishers Association (FAPA) Spring Conference on Social Media Branding.

JLB Creatives Publishing team members Janet Beasley, CEO and Elise VanCise, Media Director attended the conference as speakers and representing JLB Creatives Publishing company. Joined by Ken Countess of  The Countess Group.

Mr. Countess was the first to speak and gave an informative session on how important social media has become a major marketing tool for authors and other small businesses. He gave us some great information on what to do and what to say in the social media-verse.

After Janet, Elise VanCise took the stage and spoke about the differences between branding and marketing and how to create images to focus on your author brand or your author products.

After the sessions came the Social Media & Branding Panel. There were discussions on many aspects of social media and how it plays into marketing strategies, how often should you post to a media site, how important are mailing lists, hashtag etiquette and more.

Tomorrow's the Big Day!

Welcome to the JLB Creatives Publishing Blog. Tomorrow marks the event that we've been looking forward to...that being the Florida Authors and Publishers Association (FAPA) Spring Conference. 

FAPA brings to the plate an array of goodies in the literary world. At the Spring Conference, Social Media is the main focus. We are honored to have been chosen as a publishing company to participate. Our Media Director, Elise VanCise, will be speaking as our company representative.

In addition to their conferences, FAPA offers up one of the best contests around. Several categories are available to choose from, and you may enter your work in more than one category (entry fees required). Their Fall Conference serves up a nice array of topics for attendees, all of which are presented by industry professionals. The FAPA board members are always on hand to assist other FAPA members with their expertise in the industry.
