About author Janet Beasley

Janet is more than an author; she is one of those unique people who thrives on her fantastical imagination. Her imagination has served her well throughout the years. Working in the theatrical and live event production arenas for several years has added inspiration for her Hidden Earth Series.

Serving in multiple arenas from stage technician to special effects designer, and from performer to production manager, Janet has run the gamut when it comes to entertaining. She has appeared in TV commercials, spread ads, and has been published in trade specific magazines. Her creative writing career began with stage plays then evolved into creative fiction. Her Hidden Earth Series is a must-read for anyone looking to be thoroughly entertained while, at the same time, learning life's lessons through the eyes of Janet’s amazing characters.

Time Flies When You're Having Fun!

Welcome to the JLB Creatives Publishing Blog. A great place to gather information, possibly discover something new and cool now and then, be inspired, and most of all have fun!

JLB Creatives Publishing Team is always having fun of some sort. Whether they are at their weekly team meeting, or out on the road attending and speaking at conventions, conferences, or events, this team of literary divas is continually looking for the next FUN thing. 

This year is going to be a year of incredible fun with new ideas coming your way from this ground breaking publishing company.

2014 was JLB Creatives Publishing's debut year, and the accomplishments of "fun-ness" abounded! In addition to taking aspiring, top notch authors through the publishing process, JLBCP became members of FAPA, UPPAA, and FPEA. They joined forces with other industry professionals to bring about unique ways to get the word out for their authors. Their one on one service with their authors throughout the publishing process became their signature service. The team members shared the fun speaking to school groups, 4-H clubs, and at conferences and conventions nationwide regarding several different aspects of the literary world. And their uncanny knack at putting together eye-catching presentations put them on the map nationally.

When it comes to their line of business JLBCP is all about quality, not quantity. The JLBCP team lives by the words, "We create literary masterpieces, we don't just print books." Authors around the globe are starting to pick up on this tag line, and are discovering they are being treated as authors should be before, during, and after the publishing process.

A brand new addition in 2015 for JLBCP is their Steampunk Line of cosplay guns, props, jewelry, etc. In the near future you'll be seeing a line of unique steampunk, diesel punk, and cyber punk products crafted by BeaslePunk. And wait till you catch a glimpse of the next amazing literary project coming from JLBCP. It is being kept under wraps until its pre-release event hits the scene late spring/early summer. Give the JLBCP literary divas another couple of months and you're going to be blown away by their latest horizon-conquering, writing-wizardry idea that has been in the works since summer of 2014. This idea is so far out of the box, JLBCP decided to do away with the box completely and create with no boundaries. It's going to take some hefty pioneering and creative marketing to present this idea to the masses, but not to worry...the JLBCP divas are just the ones to serve as the "Davy Crocketts" to make it happen!

Event appearances and speaking engagements are already being scheduled for 2015, so be sure to stay tuned to the blog for the latest events where you'll find JLBCP's team. And of course the Pickford Community Library's Young Writer's Workshop is underway for the year, so you can expect to see this year's aspiring author's next anthology published late this spring.

Thursday Prompt: Urban Legends

This week let's have some fun with urban legends. I'm sure you've heard most of them, or maybe your town has one of its own. Some legends are funny, but most are meant to give warning or be frightening. This week's story will be dark fiction or horror and a minimum of 1,000 words, based on an urban legend. Here are a few you can choose from.

1. Sewer Gators
This legend is usually centered around large cities like New York, but I'm sure there's a few rogue sewer gators in rural America. The legend states these monstrous creatures came from abandoned pets that were flushed before they became to big to handle.

2. The Vanishing Hitchhiker  
This one has long been a favorite. You pick up a young girl/guy alongside a dark road. You give them a lift home but after pulling into the driveway the hitchhiker has suddenly disappeared. You knock on the door to make sure they got in alright but instead are told he or she had been killed on that road years before.

3. Buried Alive
This one can barely be considered an urban legend considering how often people have been buried alive. In fact, in the past many coffins were even equipped with strings that ran through the ground and were connected to a bell not far away. This way if anyone did happen to be buried alive they could pull the string and get the undertaker’s attention.

Okay, take your pick or use a local urban legend. Shape it into your own dark fiction. Can't wait to see what you've written!

The Untold Legend: The Warrior Queen

Voda of Monarch never once believed that she would end up as a queen,  but after finding herself in a horrible situation, she ends up as the new ruler. has been gaining recognition ever since. Amy was raised in Sanford, Florida. She is working toward a bachelor's degree in molecular biology and hopes to apply that knowledge to the field of disease control.

She loves watching sci-fi movies, reading historic romance novels, studying history, Medical botany, and astronomy. The inspiration for this book was Boadicea (Boudica or Boudicca), a queen of a Celtic tribe who led an uprising against the occupying forces of the Roman Empire.

Hello fans! And a very special welcome to our new followers who have recently joined us, or are visiting us for the first time today.

Lill and Mewe trek to Turtle Run Creek to see the rare turtle hatchlings that happen every 40 years. It appears the turtles communicate with each other very well. Like any little community, the turtles each have their own task to perform. When Mewe gets too close to some young turtles she is smacked and hissed at by a turtle that protects them. Mewe hissed back but understood they protect their young turtles at all costs. Do the turtles have any enemies? Is it possible for turtles and cats to become friends?

Merak stays behind on this mission but manages to create his own imaginary creatures at the Amusphere. During one of his holographic battles with otherworldly aliens, the program malfunctions and he is left to fend for himself. What happens?

The MMSC mission crew set off on their mission to Zanda. It is the first time the Martians are invited to join the United Alliance of Planets conference on that faraway planet. This takes place when the five blue moons align. It takes almost two weeks to reach their destination. Danger lurks along the way. Who or what do they encounter? What is a Pree? Is there trouble brewing in the universe?

About author Jean E. Lane!

Jean grew up in the once active steel town of Youngstown, Ohio. Since then, she has moved to the area and

considers this her home. Shortly afterwards, she met and later married her husband Ken; now they have a home just northwest of .

She studied Journalism at Writers Institute and Finance at . Most of her life included working in Accounting and Purchasing. Although she liked working with numbers, she knew she had an aptitude for writing at an early age. Jean had poems published in Seacoast Life Magazine, Wide Open Magazine, and was a poetic contributor to The Copy Desk Flash, a school newspaper. Later she signed a contract with Creative Directions as a free-lance writer of verse for greeting cards.

It was her love of science and science fiction that prompted her to write her first children’s novel, “Lill and Mewe and the Secrets of Mars”, the first of her series. Her inspiration came with the birth of her niece Lily and shortly afterwards a nephew, Andrew. As with all children, she wanted them to enjoy reading…and there’s nothing like a good adventure.

Submissions Are Open ~ Wide Array of Genres ~ Looking for Love and Romance for the Month of February

Hello fans! Welcome to February. This month's Tuesday and Friday feature will focus on a call for romance novels. We're looking for unique, fresh, romance stories that delve into the paranormal, mystery, western, or epic fantasy side of the genre. Nothing obscene or slanderous will be considered for publication. Of course submissions in all of our genres are open, but these particular genres/sub genres will move to the top of the stack for review and consideration of publication.

If you have been putting off becoming a romance writer, why not take advantage of the month of February to inspire you to become motivated. Remember, if you have a story to tell the best thing you can do is write it!

About Amy Sellers: 

Amy has been inspired to create art her entire life. She graduated from the University of South Florida in 1987 with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. In 2002, Amy became interested in creating children's books. She was inspired to help her son and many other children diagnosed with autism. In October 2011 she opened her first retail art gallery, Amy Sellers Art Gallery, in Mount Dora, Florida.

Jules Gabriel Verne was a French novelist, poet, and playwright best known for his adventure novels and his profound influence on the literary genre of science fiction. Born on February 8, 1828. He landed in the midst of a busy maritime port city, the city of Nantes, France, where he was exposed to schooners and ships departing and arriving. These fascinating vessels were the keys that sparked his imagination, leading him into the realm of entertaining the masses with fictional travel and adventure.

The ship was due to set out for the Indies that evening, but stopped first at Paimboeuf, where Pierre Verne arrived just in time to catch his son and make him promise to travel "only in his imagination". It is now known that the legend is an exaggerated tale invented by Verne's first biographer, his niece Marguerite Allotte de la Füye, though it may have been inspired by a real incident.

In 1851, Verne met up with a fellow writer from Nantes, Pierre-Michel-François Chevalier (known as "Pitre-Chevalier"), the editor-in-chief of the magazine Musée des familles (The Family Museum).Pitre-Chevalier was looking for articles about geography, history, science, and technology, and was keen to make sure that the educational component would be made accessible to large popular audiences using a straightforward prose style or an engaging fictional story. Verne, with his delight in diligent research, especially in geography, was a natural for the job.Verne first offered him a short historical adventure story, "The First Ships of the Mexican Navy," written in the style of James Fenimore Cooper, whose novels had deeply influenced him. Pitre-Chevalier published it, and in the same year also accepted a second short story, "A Voyage in a Balloon." The latter story, with its combination of adventurous narrative, travel themes, and detailed historical research, would later be described by Verne as "the first indication of the line of novel that I was destined to follow."

Hi everyone! Hope you had a fantastic weekend, and were able to start the week off in style. We wanted to post a report on how wonderful the Steampunk and Industrial Event was. We had a super time! JLB Creatives Publishing's Media director, Elise VanCise, joined CEO Janet Beasley and her husband to make the event even more spectacular! We listened to pitches from authors, made sales, signed autographs, and more! It was truly a fun time had by all.

Cosplay, gadgets and books at the Steampunk Industrial Show!

JLB Creatives Publishing CEO Janet Beasley and Media Director Elise VanCise appeared at the Steampunk Industrial Show at Renniger's Flea Market and Antique Center in Mt. Dora, FL. They were joined by Janet's husband Don. 

The JLB Creatives Publishing booth boasted some awesome stuff! There were steampunk guns made by Janet and Don, vintage hats, Steampunk jewelry and of course books published by JLB Creatives authors.

It was a great time meeting folks with a passion for all things steam and even a few fellow authors! Want to know just how much fun they had? Check out the photos below!

Today's creation is a stunning hat titled, Steamy Stovepipe. Steamy is a unique creation of an over-sized, slightly distorted shaped top hat. Nearly every ribbon, feather, and gadget are hand-sewn on to make for a professional, durable finished product. Multiple golden strands dangle from the back, both bunches knotted and topped off with studded leather wrap. The amazing color combinations make this tall boy even more eye catching than most. Be the one who stands out in the crowd of steampunk enthusiasts with the incredibly creative Steamy StovePipe.

Today's featured item is a cosplay gun that holds the name Sassy Brassy. It is obvious how this little beauty got its name. Highlighted with buckles, chain, and gears this piece is sure to top off any outfit that fits the motif. Sassy Brassy is a uniquely designed adult "toy" that was designed to stop others in their tracks and ask, "Where did you get that sassy little brassy pistol?" BeaslePunk cosplay guns are not for children. Each BeaslePunk gun has been sanded down to remove any "unwanted" logos.
