Hello everyone! So great to see you here.
I must admit - the 3 week blog tour for Maycly
was a total blast...and a total hit!
Thanks so much to those of you who followed Maycly by visiting so many
other wonderful blogs who were so kind as to host me on the tour.
But now, it's back to writing - novels 2-6 are coming along nicely!
Regular blog posts are still appearing on Mondays - but with a little bit of a twist.
Due to the enormous success we have had with Maycly - I need to get busy on the next 5 novels...you read right...5 more novels! For this reason, every Monday we're going to head to the archives and the postings will be some of the coolest and most helpful blog posts I made throughout 2011 and early 2012. This will allow me the much time needed to let my creativity run wild and write, and write, and write. ;-)

Welcome back! Hope your enjoying all of the Springtime hooplah - graduations, proms, picnics, and the likes. We made a trip to the beach - so this week's video was shot from there. Audio isn't the greatest...but the view behind me is spectacular!

WEEK 13 VIDEO
ACROSTIC PROSE
(wind noise - lower volume before playing then adjust accordingly)
WEEK 13 TOPIC POST:
I discovered acrostics while going through my writing class. I was so intrigued by them, I entered a contest just to see how I'd do - I didn't win...but sometimes it's not about winning - it's just about achieving a self set goal. I had a blast trying to figure out which kind I wanted to attempt, what it was going to be about, and stay within the guidelines of the contest. (Not easy to write little when you're born to be a novelist!) :)
This week should be fun for all of my bloggers, young and old and young at heart alike. If you'd like to give it a try, simply write or type the following as shown:
L
I
F
E
I
S
G
O
O
D
Now, use each letter for the first word of your line. For example: Longing for the sun to rise. Move to the second letter, I, and write your next line and so on.
It's harder than I thought it would be. There's all kinds of words that start with each letter, but finding the right ones that create a prose that makes sense can be tricky. For instance, I probably wouldn't make the next line of this acrostic Ibises don't make great pets. I would be more inclined to develop the prose from my first line. i.e. I waited patiently for its surprise, From over the horizon it shall appear, Everyday should be so beautiful. Also keeping in the theme of Life Is Good.
Some have said that writing poetry is much easier than a novel...for me...I find both to be a fun challenge and a way to broaden my creative ability in so many different ways!
Happy writing!

PIC N' THOUGHT

Being part of a family is a wonderful thing

LINK OF THE WEEK:
I don't know about you, but my husband and I absolutely love to go hiking. Well, living in Florida sure we get to hike wonderful beaches, dense tropical type forests, and even sink holes, but I had been out west and hiked a few places that were far different. I still wanted to hike parts of Florida I hadn't seen and my curiosity got the best of me. I started searching the web for other places we could go hiking in Florida, and in doing so, I came across this site. It had awesome photos and was geared totally to hiking! WOOHOO! You can upload photos from your hikes and enjoy networking with other hikers...but it only gets better.
Once I had signed up and uploaded a few of my photos I received an email that I had a "comment" on one of my photos from a fellow hiker...except for their post wasn't in English. I finally figured out what to do: I downloaded a hand dandy online translator and found out that they really liked the photo. After digging deeper into the site, I found a list of how many hikes have been reported in a whole bunch of different countries! This site was getting better by the minute!
I now have "favorites" saved on the site of some of the most breath taking photos of places from around the globe. A lot of them are from hikes done on the Himalayas, Swiss Alps, The Matterhorn, plus others I didn't even know existed. All of a sudden my three foot elevation hikes seemed meaningless compared to these big boys jutting up so majestically into the brilliant blue sky on the other side of the world. But I soon found out that these hikers were just as intrigued by the "flat" hikes of Florida as I was the alp rangers. And the US has been gaining in numbers of hikes with people jumping in and sharing their hikes from out west here in the states.
I've said all that to say this - if you want to see the world but don't have time to travel...this is an excellent site to discover new places, new people, and even new animals and plants...the things that truly make this world go 'round.
And of course I by no means endorse this site, get money for clicks, or anything like that - I just absolutely love it! Enjoy!
