WEEKLY TOPIC POST: Janet's Treasures In Her Life

The treasures in my life don't consist necessarily of "things" but more so of people and places. Dealing with stacking chronic illnesses that have kept me from getting "things," I've learned there are so many treasures I didn't even notice because I was always too busy looking "inside" the treasure chest instead of checking out the treasures that had "spilled over."

Below I've posted some photographs taken from the video, each with a caption about those or the places shown in the photos, listed beneath them.

I certainly hope you enjoy the "still picture" show and hopefully find at least one that makes you smile.

The first treasure in my life is my wonderful husband.
We've been married 30 years and have remained
best friends and soul mates throughout the entire
journey. This photo was taken at our 11 year
anniversary where I surprised Don with a
vow renewal ceremony.

My immediate family is yet another treasure
made up of many gems. I am blessed to still
have my mother and father living. My sis
and brother-in-law have become best friends
to Don and myself as the years roll by.

When it comes to in-laws - my treasure chest runneth
over with love, laughter, and a whole other family
who makes me feel and accepts me like a blood relative!

Waiskai (pronounced Whiskey - named)
after the lake our summer home is nestled
on is our little bundle of joy. He came to us
in a very low time in our lives and restored
the love and joy that had been robbed from us.

Our summer home is shared with my parents and is
situated in the woods on Waiskai Bay in Michigan's
Northern U.P. My sis and brother-in-law live
right across the street so it's a family affair
when we make our summer trip.
There's no better treasure than sitting
on the porch, watching the lake freighters
glide by just off the shore of Canada on
the impressive Lake Superior.

I believe God made waterfalls and hid them deep within
Mother Nature's canvas - leaving us treasures we
could enjoy seeking out and discovering
ourselves. Big and tall, or short and small,
it doesn't matter to me...any water fall is
a treasure to me.

Wildlife is another treasure in my life
that I find absolutely fascinating!
I thoroughly enjoy spending a day in the
woods hiking the outdoors with my husband.

When the sun is shining and the
temperatures are cooperating, for me, there is no other
treasure as peaceful as gliding down a crystal clear,
spring fed river by kayak.
Living in Florida, and vacationing in Michigan's U.P.
is another gem in my life.
Each place delivers some of the most beautiful sunsets.
I treasure having the opportunities to stand
on a shoreline and watch the sinking sun as it paints
the transparent canvas situated between it and myself,
otherwise known as the sky,
with its brilliant colors of its canvas
with ease until it decides to hide
and rest for the evening.

~ ~ FRIENDS ~ ~
For Don and me, friends are the finishing touch
that make our treasures in life complete.
If I were to post all of the photos
of those who are dear to our hearts, you'd be
here all day, and night, and probably into the
next day. If you believe you fall under this
category - then you probably do!

As I like to say...
stay casual, live life to the fullest, and have a piece of chocolate!
