A Picture Is Worth a 1000 Words - AGAIN :)

First and foremost I want to welcome and send out a huge THANK YOU to all of the new followers from the past few weeks who have joined in here on the JLB Creatives Blog. You are much appreciated. And to my good ol' standbys' - a huge shout of appreciation for sticking with us!

Though the Topic Post is the same, I've changed the Link Of The Week and the Photo.

This week is back by popular demand. I received several emails wanting to know if there was a deadline to turn in the stories...and the answer is NO! I hate deadlines. ;-)

It's highly interactive for all of you writers out there, and in a few weeks it's going to be highly interactive for all of you readers out there! We want to connect each of you with new readers and authors who deserve to be in the spotlight!

Check out the video then read the weekly post for details!

WEEKLY TOPIC POST: Stories from Photographs
Isn't it amazing how some creative talents just seem to go together like cake and ice cream? I was gobsmacked when I realized just how much photography and novel writing go together in the same creative basket for me.

People say a picture is worth 1000 words. Well, now that I've added writing to my creative arena, I have to agree. I didn't realize just how much I was falling back on my photographs to create many different scenes in my epic fantasy novels.

When I started catching on to the blending of these two talents, I began becoming even more conscious of what I was photographing. I used to only photograph to capture the beauty of nature and enjoy the moments that I had frozen in time, for many years to come. Now I find myself photographing the beauty of nature not only to treasure as a keepsake, but also to enhance my fantasy worlds, bring more detail to my enchanted places, and discover (in my brain) creatures that don't even exist!

**** Below I've posted a few photographs of mine. Take a look and see if any of them inspire you to write a story. If you want, write your short story and submit it to me for a future JLB Creatives Blog post. I'll post all that I receive as long as the content is "kid safe." In other words, no profanity, no graphic sex scenes, no vulgarity...you get the idea.

NOVEL UPDATE:
Volume 2 (title will be released at a later date) of my Hidden Earth series is well underway. Dar and I have spent a lot of time together in the past few weeks pulling this one together. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the theme and imagination that is going into this novel.

"Hidden Earth" - volume 1/"Maycly" is still out on submission. Hopefully only 9 - 13weeks to go before we hear something from the publisher - but could be longer. Good things come to those who wait...so keep waiting with us and sooner or later you'll be able to enjoy reading "Maycly" as much (if not more) than we've had putting it together! ;-)

LINK OF THE WEEK:
When writing a good ol' country scene, it seems somehow corn cob pipes tend to be a cool "prop" for some of the characters. Did you know there are tons of different kinds of corn cob pipes? Me either until my friend began showing me around his shop. He owns and operates a highly successful business online for pipe collectors. You can read about and purchase several different style corn cob pipes from Aristo-Cob. Just think how cool it would be to add some credible detail to the pipe your country character is holding.

Better yet, these make great gifts for collectors. (Hint: Before you konw it, the holidays will be upon us.)

Check out Aristo-Cob at the link below. Be sure and tell Scott (the owner) I said HELLO!!! :)
