Dar Bagby, head
of JLB Creative Publishing’s Manuscript Editing and Proofreading Department,
will be giving a presentation titled, “ePublishing and Its Influence on the
Community” in Marquette, Michigan, on September 25th, along with Ann Marie
Smith, manager of the Pickford Community Library in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
The UpperPeninsula Region of Library Cooperation (UPRLC) is honoring the Pickford
Community Library for its innovative programs that serve the community of Pickford , MI .
The library’s Young Writers Workshop, created by Dar Bagby and JLB Creatives
Publishing CEO, Janet Beasley, and has become one of the mainstays in Pickford
and the surrounding community. Building new bridges between local students,
teachers, and principals, as well as teen and adult library patrons and various
community and state leaders.
Pickford
Community Library was chosen as one of 26 participants selected by the Michigan Humanities Council to help create a mission statement for the case statement workshop, to define the future of programing for the MHC, because of its variety of programs that bring the community of
Pickford together, and its Young Writers Workshop, free to anyone in grade 6
through college, is lighting the pathway to authorship for young people
interested in becoming published authors.
