Meet Betty Mermelstein

Welcome JLB Creatives fans and followers.  If this is your first visit we extend our gratitude to you for taking the time to stop by. We certainly hope you find the JLB Creatives Blog to become a regular weekly stop on your blog list and will share us with your friends and family.

Our regular posts appear on Mondays - and sometimes when there's very special things there may be a surprise post between Mondays.

JLB Creatives Blog caters to those who love to read, write, illustrate, edit, enjoy photography, and much more. Because many of our fans include kids and their parents we are happy to say we have built a trust between us and our fans when it comes to suitable content. We review all submissions and keep our posts rated no higher than PG13, and if they are rated at such we strive to include disclaimers. You will find a vast array of genres being represented by artists from around the world which we hope you enjoy and support.

We were very busy throughout the month of December and the beginning of January as JLB Creatives is growing by leaps and bounds. Be sure to check out the new pages such as the JLB Creatives Book Shoppe Online, Events, JLB Creatives Executive Team, and more. We are looking forward to a year chock full of new and exciting things for not only readers and authors, but in addition those who help bring good things to life such as editors, illustrators, graphic designers, and more!

Enough about us. . .let's get busy getting you entertained!

We are proud to bring you the first in our Featured Artists Series for 2013,
the fabulous Author Betty Mermelstein.

Jib and Spinnaker: Sailors of the Low Seas

By Betty Mermelstein
Illustrated by Anne Rankin

Jib and Spinnaker are two little mice who fall into a swimming pool as they are being chased by a dog. They think they have fallen into the ocean, and as they try to get out, they encounter many pool toys and equipment that, to them, look like other strange things. Each of these items provides a challenge to the mice as they try to escape the waters of the deep.

Excerpt:
Spinnaker caught his breath on the floor of the boat.  Jib remained by the rail, dust sweeping through his fur and clouding his eyes.
“It’s hard to see, Spinnaker,” Jib cried, “but it seems there’s something in the air coming our way.”
“Oh, I hope it’s flying cheese,” Spinnaker moaned.  “I get hungry when I have to learn a new sport!”
Jib squinted to get a better look.
